Agenda

These are our primary goals for now:

• Force the current Congress and the president to pass legislation on the following or face defeat in the 2020 elections:
  • REAL climate change legislation that is likely to improve the ecological outlook for our children and grandchildren.
  • REAL gun safety legislation that could reasonably be expected to reduce gun homicides—especially at schools—without putting unreasonable restrictions on the rights of responsible gun owners.
  • REAL legislation to make good health care affordable for ALL Americans.
  • REAL actions to confront and dismantle white supremacy and patriarchy in America.
  • REAL actions to hold Trump and the GOP responsible for attacking our democratic institutions and putting the interests of white supremacists, neo-Nazis, domestic terrorists, and the Russian government ahead of the American people’s.
• Put at least as much effort into winning control of the Senate in 2020 as the White House. No non-Republican president will be able to get anything done without control of the Senate, ideally by a majority that can’t be blocked by Republicans.
• Help the strongest progressives win primary and general elections. Oppose efforts by the Democratic party to prevent strong progressives like Alexandria Ocasio Cortez and others from winning in fair primary elections.
